Well it has been crazy busy since Guatemala so I'm just now getting to sit down and write a little. It was such and eye opening experience. At first it was a bit overwhelming. I just started thinking how is me being here going to even make a drop in the bucket and not just here but all the children all over the world who are abandoned, abused, left alone. So I was determined to pour everything I had for the week into some of these kids lives. Because if one life was changed, encouraged, impacted then it was worth it. I tried to love on as many kids as i could but I mainly spent a lot of time with a group of teenage girls. I was able to talk to them a lot because of the Spanish i know. It was a little rough but they spoke a lot of English and helped me out. One night we went to the teenage girls house and had make over time so we cut their hair and did their makeup. Then another night it was one of the girls birthday so we surprised her with brownies, balloons, and a present. We were able to have fun with them goof around and they became comfortable enough with us to open up about their lives. So we were able to challenge them to draw close God and give them Godly advice about different things. It was so much fun being there with those kids. I can't wait to go back one day. I pray that the seed that was sown will reap a good harvest.
One night we got to sit at Mr. Mike Clarks house and have him speak to us. He told us the story of how him and Mrs. Dottie got to Guatemala. They are some of the greatest people i have ever met. I sat there in tears the whole time he was talking to us. He brought in some of the girls that lived there and they told us their testimonies. These girls had some of the worst things you could ever imagine happen to them. I was trying so hard to keep myself from just weeping from the stories of the pure horror of things that happened to them. Then they would tell us how coming to Casa Alleluya changed their lives. Now they are women of God helping these other children see Gods love for them. What Mr. Mike and Mr. Dottie are doing there in Guatemala is so amazing. I am just honored and privileged that i got to be a part of the great work God is doing there with the Clarks.
